The year was 1999, the place was a very small second floor location above our gift store in Jacksonville, Oregon. With no freight elevator and two flights of stairs to climb (22 steps in all), the birth of Terra Firma Home began. Carrying sofas upstairs and 500 pound armoires took pure muscle and determination to realize our dream for selling beautiful handmade furniture. After two years and a lot of sore back muscles, Terra Firma Home moved to its present location in Downtown Medford with over 8000 square feet of showroom space. The owner’s passion for world travel and exposure to other cultures inspired them to create their own global style within their store. Their desire to find unique, functional, and affordable designs for their space was paramount. Growing the business has served the community well. We have encouraged other businesses to join the urban renewal of downtown Medford for a stronger local economy.
